Introdcution to Islamic Teachings and Practice
for New Muslims and Non Muslims
Description:This course helps prepares the New Muslim to understand his or her chosen path to worship the sole Creator, Allah Subhanhu wa ta'ala (Glorified and High). Topics and presentations will also be of value to non-Muslims who may be curious about Islam.
Topics will include but are not limited to: Islamic Terms, Who is Allah, His Oneness, Understanding the Shahada or testimony of faith, Forms of Shirk (association), Divine Attributes, Jesus (PBOH) in Islam, Miracles in the Qur'an, Women in Islam, Muhammad PBOH, Salat (prayer), the Pillars of Islam, Prophets and Revelation, Angels, Jinn, Death, After Death, Resurrection, Personal Accountability, Muslim's Beliefs, The Soul, Paradise, Punishment, Special
Attention will be given to a Question and Answer Period after each class.
Meeting Times/Dates: Every Wednesday starting January 27 for 12 weeks 6PM to 7PM Lecture, 7PM to 7:30PM Question and Answers
Location: Center for Islamic Development 2728 Robie Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia (Entrance is on St. Albans St., across from Speedy Mufler)
